La la la...

Down with the all-so-irritating sore throat, cough & flu again. They always come as a package. Yucky! As if some virus's being passed around. First it's Ivy, then Karen, now me & my sister. Even Magdeleine's taken ill as well. It must be the conspiracy of the virus to launch an attack on us humans!!! *Duh, obviously I'm uttering rubbish again. Hey, at least I know how to apply personification. Ok, I'm lame!* Anyway, think it's the stress and fatigue that's slowly setting in from all the tonnes of assignments & projects.

Have been watching Project Superstar. Well, that seems to be the only TV program I watch these days. Absolutely no life since school started. Damn! I don't even go out on weekends, too exhausted to even open my eyes to do some shopping or whatsoever. Projects, FYP, assignments, school, jogging, eat, sleep (actually I'm still quite deprived of this..look at my darn big eye bags & dark rings and you'd know) & watch Project Superstar...that's basically my schedule every week. Simply no life!

Talking about Project Superstar. Kelly made it to the finals in the Singapore Indoor Stadium! I have to agree that Xinhui did perform very well, surpassing Kelly in a couple of areas. But Kelly was good also...in fact, I like her in the first song <回家> and the english number. Though she didn't deliver the last song <遗失的美好> as well as Xinhui did, I thought her vocal power reflected in the english song ~What's Up~ was really commendable and the first piece showed the versatility of her vocals. My personal opinion was that that was a much more challenging piece compared to Xinhui's ~Beautiful~. I don't see why the judges said Xinhui's so superbly good in her english song segment. The judges seemed to be judging on how much the contestants have improved compared to the previous round rather than judging solely on their performance that night, which is not very fair. Though Xinhui was pretty good that night, I didn't think she deserved that high a score of 42 and 44. Well, just putting my 2 cents worth of thoughts about Project Superstar. It was quite a pity Junyang didn't make it. Anyway, I believe Junyang & Xinhui's good vocals will be appreciated by music producers out there too:) I love the way Kelly sang the song <美丽笨女人> during the preliminary rounds, so seh! That was when I started to notice her. She seemed to have lost that groove now. Hope Kelly'd perform like before or better in the finals.

Kelly with Xinhui...powerful vocals they have:) If only I can sing as well as they do.

I remember I used to dream of becoming a singer. That was years ago during my primary and lower secondary days. I guess a lot of people do, at some stage of their lives. I'm no exception. I've always loved singing. Perhaps down the road, I realised I'm more of a toilet-singer rather than a performer. Haha! Singing's something I always enjoy doing, but I guess I lack the professional vocal training and so..not good enough to be performing on stage. And people nowadays have a weird mentality, you've gotta be stick thin to look good on screen. And you've gotta be pretty enough to bring about a "mass attraction". Madness, that'll never be me! So I chose to take a more practical path. Isn't that what I always do? Practical...sometimes I wish I'll follow my heart for once. Still, I'll always be singing in the privacy of my room. La~la~la, that's my favourite pastime..a life-long one:) Got the urge for a KTV session! Someday...when I can find the time.

wahahaha... u have here a nuaster who's slightly more supportive of xin hui... perhaps it may be true that the judges were bias in giving xin hui higher scores due to the vast improvements she made, but maybe one can see in another perspective? kelly initially scored high coz she stood out from the rest. by repeating her flaws ie sing offbeat, her score would remain that range. so the nurture part came in for the other contestants who had put in a lot of effort n hence could catch up. so kelly got to work even harder... dunno whether the point is made properly across, but the whole idea is that they were on pretty much on par when they had reached the fianl stage, with all the polishing.. so maybe the judges werent' that impartial... maybe they were making current comparisons.. plus they did their hwk by listening to the original songs. haha.. okie.. groggy me talking nonsense...anyway i think xin hui delivered "beautiful" well, i actually feel comfortable listening to her sing in english! coz her pronounciation was good. it made a difference... think kelly's song would sound better if her pronounciation was corected...

haha.. yeah..i remember u always like to sing...still remember the gigi song u all sang into the casette.. a memorable pressie.. mad gals at work..wahahaha.. we can go ktv again... as usual... u sing... celine sing... fang jing sing... i nua... wahhahaha

n take care of ur throat manz! drink like gallons of water!!!! n slp more! i slpt like 10 hrs... n it helped to repair my throat at a faster rate!!

Yes, true...Kelly's gotta work harder. But I see it more like a learning curve. Kelly's vast improvements came in the early stages of the competition and towards the end, it's more difficult to get a great leap to improve tremendously again. And it's not as if Kelly's not improving, she is just that at a slower pace? Xinhui was the opposite, her great leap took place at the "proper" time, ie: near the finals. And different people have different strengths and weaknesses. Perhaps singing to the beat is one hurdle Kelly's yet to overcome while Xinhui's low pitching is her one big hurdle. Think it's just who can hide it better during the test. Seems that Kelly's quite affected by the stress by Xinhui. She don't seem to be performing to her usual standard, as in I don't hear her singing offbeat in the past. That's only a recent flaw and so I attributed that to the stress level.

You think Xinhui's "beautiful" was good too? How come it doesn't come across to me as so? Hmm, I think her last song's better. Anyway, what's wrong with Kelly's english pronounciation? I don't see much of a prob leh.

I'm so excited about going to the Indoor stadium on 1st Sept! Yay! Outing again! Kelly rox..I hope she wins:)

And yeah! we should go ktv together again! So fun! Eh, you must sing oso k?! No free concert one hor..haha:p I still havent got a copy of the pressie we gave you leh. Celine lah, haiyoh!

Yes mum..I'm drinking! And I cant go for my runs! Becoming a bloated pig. Sleep ah? no time to sleep sia, I only sleep 5-6hrs a day? Wkends maybe longer. You gimme more hours a day? maybe then I'd get to sleep 10hrs. Haha!

i agree with ur learning curve concept, hopefully kelly's next breakthrough will come at the right time. kelly's pronounciation? hmm... need to listen again to tell u which words. me not powerful in english but there's a difference leh... certain words she will emphasize correctly with the org singer, esp those that are @ the end of sentences... but some words she just chop chop pronounce.. haha.. maybe i'm just being picky. yeah!! we are going to watch at stadium!! feel like a kid once more...

sing with u guys...hahaha... i prefer to listen u guys sing... n enjoy being with u all... relac relac...

haha.. i can't give u more hours.. know it's tough having to catch up with work n get enuff rest... but think in long term... the faster u recover, the better u can perform... u adult liao arh.. i no need to nag... n i'm not ur mummy!! lalala....
