Yipee!!!
Good news! Good news! My boss's gone Penang! And the best part is...he didn't leave me any work till the day he returns on 23rd:) Yipee! But then, he flew off without signing my timesheet..(-_-") Nevermind, as long as he's gone, it's good news for me. *LOL*
Had been having "meeting marathon" with this senior manufacturing engineer from US the past 2 days. He's a customer of my attachment company from some Saginaw Steering Systems specialising in hydraulic steering systems. Sounds pretty cool huh? Will I ever become such a 'zai' engineer? In case anyone doesn't know what's 'zai'. It means superb/excellent. Haha! Wah, I think it'll be a long way for me to reach that standard. *LOL* What we learn in NTU merely scratched the surface of the engineering field only. I realised how little and in many cases, how redundant, the things we studied in the engineering books are, after I started attachment. All that's written are just theories, there's always a big difference in reality. If I'm gonna build a machine using theories alone..it probably won't work. But I have to admit theories help us build our foundation in engineering though. The field's just too wide, we'll spend multiple lifetimes to finish studying everything.
The 2 days meeting was quite an eye opener for me as an intern, esp b'cos I'd chosen design for my specialisation in the final year. Anyway, I wasn't suppose to act like an intern, I was suppose to be the project coordinator. Haha, I remembered in another occasion, I was introduced to the engineers in Delphi Shanghai as a project engineer. Aiyah, just gotta fake as if I really am..but I think I'm more like the bangla worker in ATS..*LOL* Anyway, we were working on the design review of a hydraulic pump project. The details the ang-moh look into are *fwah!* a lot on the the ergonomics and industrial design, of cos including the functionality of the machine lah. But he was focusing more on the design that'll allow greater ease at which his operators can use the pump press. Quite different from Asian engineers who are more bothered with whether the machine works. Hmm, and he was generous with his commendations. He's always going like "I like that idea!", "Good", "Great idea!" etc etc. Think ang mohs are all like that, ha! I guess it's a totally different culture compared to Asians. We're just more conservative when it comes to expressing our feelings & we've gotta learn how people can do it with such ease.
Went out with Pearl to buy cheap CDs yesterday. Heex..she didn't manage to get her Ou De Yang and I didn't get my Jolin's CD..haha! But I got the F.I.R's CD liao! *Screamz* *LOL* Nice nice!..esp the song <<把爱放开>> ~my fav! Thx Pearl..for bringing me to find cheap original CDs..so much cheap lobang~you'd make a good wife in future too *wink*! *LOL* Didn't know what got into me yesterday, was suppose to take NEL but ended up walking towards East-West line instead, and I've been walking that route everyday to get to school leh! How can I possibly not realise I was heading the wrong way?! Then, I told Pearl to take the wrong line (to Harbourfront) when we're at Outram and her destination was Dhoby Gaut! Another blunder! Luckily she realised in time and hopped onto the right line. Dunno what's with me yesterday..Gosh! I must be too excited since it's the first time I'm out shopping with Pearl. *LOL* Bleah, excuses, my mind juz went bonkers yesterday lah. *Forgive me Pearl* Haha, it won't happen again..I gotta keep a clear mind ;p
