Obstinacy & Judgement
Some people are just so opinionated that they become obstinate in their views. Stubborn...plain stubbornness. These people are bull headed, no matter how you cling onto their 'horns' to move them, they just won't budge. I do admit I'm guilty of being stubborn too, but at least I listen before I talk. These people don't, they just yack and yack and yack. Empty vessels make the most noise..how true! The best they can do is to listen to other's views, evaluate it, and reconsider to see if it'll be a better option other than their own. Isn't that how a team should work? No...they'll just shut you in your trap and give a super pissed off face. I haven't really worked out a way to deal with such people. I'm still learning how to. It's tough. Because they don't see any other point other than their own. Simply sux to be working with such people. And usually, I'll try to bring my point across nicely. It's never a win-win situation cos they're adamant in their refusal to change their minds. Even if they take your point, it's obvious they're not convinced. You can see the twitch of their lips, the message they send across through their expression.
Stubborn people aside... A conversation I had last night...made me think. Some people make their judgements too fast about someone's personality and integrity. It's only once that you encounter someone or you may not even know someone personally and a judgement is formed. It's not only judgement on one's appearance but on one's character. How unfair. How much do you know about him/her? NIL. Well, never be too quick to judge. Unless you know someone personally and on a really well basis, stop passing judgements with no grounds. Think before one talks, the words that come out will be of more value. Else, it'll just be a sweeping statement with prejudice or bias, and the comments are thus not of much worth. Rubbish.
