1st Impressions
Interview today was rather disastrous. More than an hour of test before the interview..on an empty stomach and not getting much sleep these days..turned a little groggy after that test. I think first impression's gonna cost me this time round. Almost a quarter of the time was spent on the reason for me rejecting my job offer previously. Sheeesh! Then, she thinks I'm soft spoken, not really keen on working overtime and prefers structured training. The candidate desired? Assertive and works like a bull. The fact is, I'm not that soft spoken but yet to reach assertive. Friends around should know me, when am I soft spoken?! Working overtime!! Talk about it. 3 out of 4 jobs I did does overtime like nobody's business...and I did it all! I'm just not for camping overnights in offices for extended period of time. Is that asking for too much? I wonder if what I'm trying to put across got into her. Sigh. Coming to training..I didn't mention STRUCTURED training! But somehow she got the idea of structured training was my preference. Oh manz..I just thought having some kind of a mentor whom I can pop by for some guidance would be good. It's not a must..just a preference. Wonder if she caught what I meant by P-R-E-F-E-R-E-N-C-E. I answered frankly for most of the questions...she was frank with me as well, just a little ... intimidating in her intonation. On a higher note, her positive feedback was that I had a pleasant personality, kept my cool even when she turns a little interrogating and knew what I was doing in the stuff I undertake, clear headed. Can't really remember if there were other positive ones, negative ones are easier to remember. Haha. So the overall impression is, I didn't really fare that well especially with first impressions. But she mentioned rescheduling another round with her boss but still pending. Contradicting! So did I make it or not??? Not putting high hopes.
Nevertheless, someone made my day early in the morning today. It was drizzling and I was walking along the long stretch of road into the company's main lobby. A car stopped by offering me a lift in. It was the VP of the Human Resource Department. Nice lady:) I'll remember her. And I met my ah fen ma while I was doing the test! Happy:)

One of the more gruelling interviews today. More than 3 hours in there. Feels as if I've just completed an exam. Sleepy now.
